WHAT IS A GULET
Boat building is a time honored tradition dating
back centuries. This tradition is still kept alive today with the
building of luxury and elegant Gulets. The Gulets built in the shipyards
of Bodrum stand out at first glance and differ from other boats in terms
of their form, aesthetics or workmanship. Bodrum has always been a step
ahead of other regions in the Aegean in boat building.
The standard and quality of the Gulets which have
recently been built, have increased enormously. Fifty years ago, the
Fisherman of Halicarnassos and the friends from his intellectual circle
used to sail aboard small fishing boats between 10-15 meters with a
single WC/Shower. Such sailing trips undertaken by the Fisherman of
Halicarnassos and his friends evolved into a blue voyage attracting many
sea lovers.
WHAT IS A GULET
Today Gulets over 30-35 meters are built in the shipyards of Bodrum, Antalya, Istanbul, Fethiye and other places for charters and private purposes. They are of a high standard and quality and equipped with the latest navigation technology such as GPS, GPRS, chart-plotter, radar, etc. to meet the expectations of modern yachtsmen. The Gulets have large cabins with private WC/Shower and also a spacious deck area. For this reason they are most of the time referred to as " floating hotels".

Although the Gulets might look similar, they are totally different from one another other. They are unique because they are handmade! Each reflects the style and craftsmanship of its builder. This is one of the most important aspect of wooden Gulets which differentiates them from fiberglass or steel yachts.
