Bareboat Ionian Sea:

The Ionian Islands on the west of mainland Greece include the beautiful islands of Lefkas, Cephalonia, Ithica, Meganissi, Kastos and Kalamos. Slightly further afield (but perfectly attainable on a weeks charter) are the islands of Paxos and Corfu. These are the most beautiful islands in the mediteranean!  The Ionian Sea is the perfect cruising ground for fun and relaxed sailing holidays. It really does offer something for all.

Each evening you will be able to moor up in a small village on the town quay or anchor off in your own deserted bay for the night. You will never be far from a friendly taverna, where you will be able to sample the delicious Greek food and enjoy the wonderful hospitality unique to the Ionian Islands.

Bareboat Ionian Sea | Lefkas:

Lefkada is the only Ionian island linked to mainland Greece.  A swing bridge gives easy access by road, with the airport of Preveza about a 30 minute drive. More visitors are being attracted yearly as the airport expands slowly and new developments pop up.  The island and the surrounding area has a lot to offer - anything from Bareboat, windsurfing, cycling, scuba-diving, walking, exploring ancient archaeological sites or just that lazy beach holiday. You will probably find some of the most picturesque views around, looking out from the calmer waters of the east coast overlooking the famous Onassis island of Scorpios, the other islands and mainland Greece. On the west coast of Lefkada you will find beautiful beaches where you can watch spectacular sunsets.

Bareboat Ionian Sea | Lefkada: The Seven Islands from the Ionian sea (Greek: Eptanisa) listed from North to South are:
· Corfu (capital)
· Paxos

·
Lefkada
· The Inland Sea
· Ithaca
·
Cephalonia
· Zakynthos (Zante)
· Kythera

Bareboat Ionian Sea | Corfu:  Corfu is situated only 1 nm off the coast of Albania and the Greek region of Epirus and offers gentle green uplands in the south and rugged limestone hills in the north, rising to 906 m in the double peak of Mt Pantokrator. The references to Corfu from Homer to the present day praise the island as a lush green paradise spinning a soothing spell over all who visit it.  In an age of package holidays the Corfu magic is continuously battered by jets winging in with yet more holidaymakers -and far, far more go to Corfu than to the rest of the Ionian - so it is surprising to find there are still charming and beautiful places on the island.

Corfu (Greek: Kerkyra) is the most northerly of the Ionian islands.  Most important ports are:
· Corfu Town
· Gouvia Marina
· Petriti village
· Paleokastritsa Port
· Ag. Stefanos Port
· Agni Bay

Bareboat Ionian Sea and subregions:

There are 1400 islands of which 169 are inhabited so one can easily find what one seeks. Whether one wants to escape with a Bareboat boat to an isolated island or to an island full of life and entertainment or even to explore the remains of some of Europe's oldest civilizations, it is all there for you. For most of it is the lure of sand, sea and year round of sunshine weather, which is the biggest attraction. Exploring with a Bareboat yacht the 13,676 km of coastlines, one can definitely find the beaches of his dreams: long white sandy beaches with turquoise crystal waters, small beaches surrounded by huge cliffs or pine and palm trees forests, beaches with waters as if bleach waters was mixed with the blue color of the Mediterranean.

We can offer Bareboat, Bareboat plus shipper, flotilla sailing and cabin charter to visit:

Bareboat Ionian Sea Conditions:

The winds are not as strong as in some parts of Greece, and will typically be of F3/F4 strength in the afternoons. At night the winds usually die right down leaving the water looking like a milll pond. The lie of the islands, creates a very protected area with little or no sea swell, which results in the perfect area for swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on your own beautiful yacht surrounded by the most perfect scenery. With no tides or currents to worry about, the sailing is technically relatively simple, allowing you time to enjoy your holiday.
