Bareboat Greece | Athens and Lavrion:

The beautiful cluster of the islands at the Argolic and Saronic Gulf, that is Aegina, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Salamina and several islets, is situated within a stone's throw from Athens. Those islands compose a beautiful picture of wooded anchorage along the Peloponnesian coastline easily reached with a Bareboat Greece. Furthermore they mark the borders between the Southwest part of the Peloponnesian bay and the Northwest Saronic.

Aegina is considered an interesting destination, not only for its beautiful beaches and monasteries, but for its significant archaeological monuments as well, such as the temple of Aphea Athena and the sanctuary of Apollo. Poros, situated opposite of Galatas, on the east coastline of Argolida, was considered the island of Poseidon according to ancient Greeks. Nowads, it is renowned for its lush vegetation.

Hydra is an appealing place not only for thousands of tourists but for the international stardom as well, thanks to the combination of its manor houses with cosmopolitan atmosphere and its distinct local color. Many artists own country houses or even permanent residences on the island of Hydra. Spetses is the Southeast point of the Argosaronic, situated opposite the picturesque Porto-Heli, in the middle of the homonymous bay. The islanders played a major role in the Modern naval history of Greece. Their bravery is still sensed through the architecture of the picturesque old port and the villas of families renowned for their active participation in the Greek Revolution against the Turkish yoke.

Each island has its own special character, appealing to numerous weekend visitors. The common characteristics of those islands are the magnificent beaches and the opportunity to participate in numerous sea-sports, the picturesque taverns specialized in fresh fish cooking and the austere beauty of hotel accommodation. The picturesque small villages located along the coastline are characterized by a unique architectural order.

Bareboat Greece | Conditions:

Predictable winds, calm seas and easy line of sight navigation are prevalent throughout for Bareboat Greece, from the Saronic Gulf and Pelpoponese coast in the West, to the Dodecanese and along the Turkish coast in the Southeast. The Cyclades offer deep blue open-water runs. In the summer, the dominant Meltemi wind  blows from the North from 10-15 knots over the Aegean, with stronger winds of up to 25 knots over the middle and northern archipelago and afternoon gusts in the lee of the islands.

In Athens, Poros, Corfu and Lefkas it’s possible to take part in a one or two week flotilla. Flotilla starts on Saturday.  Our flotilla will consist between 4 till 10 yachts in general. Standard charter time are  from Saturday afternoon 17:00h with return to port on Friday 16:00h. On return check out will take place and you can stay on board until Saturday morning 09:00h.For additional information and route suggestion please look at our online Bareboat Itineraries.

Bareboat Greece | Lefkas:

Bareboat Greece

The Seven Islands from the Ionian sea for Bareboat Greece listed from North to South are:
· Corfu (capital)
· Paxos

·
Levkas
· The Inland Sea
· Ithaca
·
Cephalonia
· Zakynthos (Zante)
· Kythera

Lefkas is the only Ionian island linked to mainland Greece.  A swing bridge gives easy access by road, with the airport of Preveza about a 30 minute drive. More visitors are being attracted yearly as the airport expands slowly and new developments pop up.  The island and the surrounding area has a lot to offer - anything from Bareboat Greece, windsurfing, cycling, scuba-diving, walking, exploring ancient archaeological sites or just that lazy beach holiday. You will probably find some of the most picturesque views around, looking out from the calmer waters of the east coast overlooking the famous Onassis island of Scorpios, the other islands and mainland Greece. On the west coast of Levkas you will find beautiful beaches where you can watch spectacular sunsets.

BareboatGreece | Corfu:

Corfu
is situated only 1 nm off the coast of Albania and the Greek region of Epirus and offers gentle green uplands in the south and rugged limestone hills in the north, rising to 906 m in the double peak of Mt Pantokrator. The references to Corfu from Homer to the present day praise the island as a lush green paradise spinning a soothing spell over all who visit it.  In an age of package holidays the Corfu magic is continuously battered by jets winging in with yet more holidaymakers -and far, far more go to Corfu than to the rest of the Ionian - so it is surprising to find there are still charming and beautiful places on the island.

Corfu is the most northerly of the Ionian islands.  Most important ports are:
· Corfu Town
· Gouvia Marina
· Petriti village
· Paleokastritsa Port
· Ag. Stefanos Port
· Agni Bay

Bareboat Greece | Cyclades:

Kea is the most westerly of the larger Cyclades, laying some 12 nm southeast of Cape Sounion. In a distance of 41 NM you will find the hilly island of Syros or Siros half-way between Kythnos and Mykonos. Its central situation makes it the principal centre of administration, commerce and fisheries in the Cyclades. Both Ermoupolis and Finikas form (just like Paroikia on Paros) practical charter bases in the middle of the Cyclades.

The central island of Paros, is occupied by a range of hills of gently rounded contours. Three bays cut deep inland - in the west the sheltered Paroikia Bay, with the island's capital and serves as a Bareboat base - in the north the bay which shelters the little town of Naoussa and in the east the flat Marmara bay.

The island Serifos, north-west of Sifnos, is a bare and rocky island, its hills slashed by gorges; its highest point is Mount Tourlos with 483 m. The ore is shipped from Koutalas on the south coast. In the season especially Livadi is much frequented by bareboats; the Chora, towering above Livadi bay, makes this one of the most stunning approaches.

The island of Kythnos lies south-east of Kea and is a rocky and barren island of karstic limestone, that is usually covered in an abundance of colourful flowers in the spring. The coast is much indented - with many beautiful anchorages and ports for a Bareboat boat- and for the most part falls steeply down to the sea. The inhabitants live by farming and fishing. In antiquity iron was mined on the island.
